Raymond Thompson

Raymond E. Thompson, age 88, died on December 6, 2013 in Nashville, TN. He was born on January 7, 1925 in Salt Lake City to Harold T. Thompson & Nannie Catherine Blackmer. Ray was a Navy Veteran and served in WWII & the Korean War. He married Dorothy Nielsen on June 5, 1942 and together they had 4 girls. He worked as a butcher and later as a meat manager for Harmons until he retired. Ray loved to fish and spent many days at Strawberry Reservoir. He also loved to cook and swim. He is survived by his daughters: Carolyn (Daren) Davis, Pat (Bob) Goodman, Debbie Mallard, Donna (Dave) Orth; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dorothy, brothers Bob & Bill, and granddaughter Cindy. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 11:00 am at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road in West Jordan. There will be a viewing on Sunday, December 15 from 5-7 pm at the mortuary and one hour prior to services on Monday. Interment will be Redwood Memorial Park.
