Raymond Schramm

September 23, 1953 — October 11, 2013

Raymond Warren Schramm was born on 23 September 1953, in Monticello Utah to C.C Schramm and Phyllis Rae (Jones) Schramm. He died un-expectedly on 11 October 2013 from natural causes. He married his beloved wife Karen Lester, on 18 September 1981 in the Manti, Utah temple.
He devoted his life to his family and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served a two-year mission in Texas. He loved reading the book of Mormon and teaching others about the Gospel. He met his wife through his sister, Roberta, while she was on her mission serving as a companion with Karen. He enjoyed reading, watching sports, latch hook, writing letters, and talking to strangers. Whenever we went anywhere with Raymond he would always stop and talk with random people and he could talk for hours if we let him. His favorite College sports team was BYU which he was harassed about because his daughter went to the University of Utah and bought him several U of U memorabilia. His favorite candy was peanut M&M’s which he always requested for his birthday, father’s day or Christmas. He also loved writing to anyone he knew. The last job he worked at was O.C Tanner Company.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, and his three daughters Amber, Becky, and Katy (Bryce) Nelson; his mother, Phyllis and his three sisters Karla (Keith) Dye, Roberta (David) Merrill, and Heidi (Rich) Kramer. He was preceded in death by his father.
His funeral services will be held on Friday, 18 October 2013 at 11:00 am at Redwood Memorial located on 6500 South and Redwood Road. A viewing will be held the night before from 6-8 pm and 1 hour prior to the funeral services (10-10:45 am) at the same location. In lieu of flowers, we would like any one with memories of Raymond Schramm to bring them to the viewing or the funeral services post them in the comments section online.
