Raymond Hayes

Raymond Yates Hayes, 81 of Rosharon, TX., passed away 7 November 2014.
He was born 18 January 1933 in Salt Lake City, UT., to Raymond Holbrook Hayes and Daisy Lovina Yates of Bountiful, UT. who preceded him in death.
He graduated from Davis High School, and worked in Utah before being drafted for the Korean War. He served from 1953-56 in the US Army and was stationed at Ft. Lewis, WA., and Anchorage, AK. After the service he met his wife, the former Charlotte Ann Van Leeuwen of Bountiful. The couple were married in the Salt Lake Temple in 1956. Ray retired after 28 years at the U.S. Post Office in Bountiful in the year 2000. The family moved to their home in Texas in the summer of 2008.
Ray’s hobbies and interests include the love of old ’50’s music and movies. His love for the BYU football team was a passion of his.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Charlotte Ann Hayes (Van Leeuwen), also of the home in Rosharon, TX.; his brother Vern Hayes and wife Arlene of Bountiful, UT; his daughter Debra Roundy and husband Roger of Rosharon, TX.; son Alan Raymond Hayes and his family of Vero Beach, FL.; daughter Kathi Hayes and her family of Bountiful, UT.; daughter LaRae Galloway and her family of Cheney, KS. Nineteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Services will be held, Saturday, November 15, 2014, at 1:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Bountiful 10th Ward, 1130 N. 200 E. Bountiful, UT. A viewing will be held prior to services from 12:00 noon to 12:45 pm at the same location. Interment will be at Lakeview Memorial Cemetery, 1640 E. Lakeview Drive, Bountiful, UT.
