Raymond Drage “Ray”

October 22, 1927 — June 27, 2014

On June 27th, 2014 Raymond D. Drage left us with great reluctance. He was surrounded by all who cherished him. Those of us who knew him were enriched by his example, quiet strength, personal integrity, and kindness.
He was born October 22, 1927 to Lillian and Denzil Drage. His growing up years were spent in Holladay, Utah where he attended Olympus Jr. High School and graduated from Granite High School.
Like other young men, he was drafted into the army and served his country during WWII. Upon his return he married JaJuan Lewis. Together they raised a darling family Alauna (Lyle Ruble Jr.), Brent (Leslie Fowkes), and Kristin (Rodney Goodman). Raymond is survived by his brother Donald Drage (Doris), sister-in-laws Jessie Lou Robbins and Willa Rae Beeman; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by infant son David Craig Drage, parents, in-laws and two brother-in-laws.
Ray was a tool and die manager at Hill Field Air Force Base and Varian. He did additional studies at Weber State University in conjunction with his profession.
Ray and JaJuan were members of the LDS Church. He served as Ward Clerk and Executive Secretary for many years. He enjoyed activities as a member of the 49ers. He enjoyed bowling, golf, and tennis. His happiest moments were spent in his home with his family and friends.
A family gathering to honor Raymond will be held on Wednesday July 2nd, 2014 at Mountain View Memorial, 3115 East 7800 South Cottonwood Heights, Utah. The viewing will be held at 1:00 p.m. followed by the funeral services at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow.
