Raymond Beer

April 20, 1928 — September 8, 2015

Our loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Raymond Edward (Ted) Beer passed following a long life of service to his family, church and fellowmen. Ted was born in Salt Lake City to John Raymond and Mary Vennetta Naylor Beer. He married D. Iris Goodliffe on August 19, 1948 and later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Ted grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from East High School. He attended the University of Utah where he majored in meteorology and minored in business during which time he also served his country in the National Guard. Ted spent the majority of his professional career working for Addressograph-Multigraph Corporation which involved multiple relocations between Salt Lake City, Boise, Idaho and Lubbock, Texas. To Ted, his career provided the mechanism for the Lord to place him where he could best serve Him. His life was characterized by faithful and dedicated service to the LDS Church and served in multiple leadership capacities. It was his heartfelt privilege to witness the Lord’s hand in building His earthly kingdom including service in Elder’s quorums as a president or counselor, bishoprics as a bishop and counselor and as a counselor in a stake presidency. Following retirement, Ted and Iris were called to a church service mission where they served as ushers on Temple Square for nine years.
Ted is survived by his wife; his five sons Douglas (Phyllis), Stephen (Kim), David (Robbin), Scott (Carliane) and Brett; twenty grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Marilyn, his grandson Clinton and a great-grandson, Julian Beer.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, September 12th at the Cottonwood 10th Ward, 4930 E. Westmoor Road (Holladay).
