Dec. 30th, 1961 ~ May 15th, 2016
With great pain in our hearts we are deeply saddened with the loss of our beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and friend Raul Giles Batalla. He left us on Sunday May 15th, 2016 surrounded by his family and returned to the loving arms of our dear savior after fighting a courageous battle with a horribly painful disease, known as ALS. He will be greatly missed by his family on earth and joyfully welcomed with open arms by his family in heaven. Raul was  born on December 30th, 1961 in Tlacotepec, Mexico to Elvira Giles Landa and Ciriaco Batalla Tapia. He came to the states in his early teen years and soon made his way to utah, where he later settled to start a life with his family. Raul was always the center of attention at any gathering or family functions, making everyone laugh and making times enjoyable. He was known for being a dedicated hard worker, working 2 jobs for many years.  With a  big heart he gave a helping hand to anyone in need, giving advice and telling his stories with a sarcastic insult and a twist. We will remember him for his passion for outdoor activities, family parties, dancing, fishing, boxing, gambling and just being with his loved ones. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, his charismatic ways, his humor, and love for his family and friends.  He will be joining Ciriaco Batalla (Father) and Huber Najera (Brother) who have been waiting for him in heaven. Survived by Sheilla Batalla ; 2 daughters – Elvira Batalla  & Xochitl Batalla, four beautiful grandchildren, Mia, Isaiah, Xitlaly, and X’naiya.  Yolanda A. Herrera ; 2 Sons – Omar Batalla & Raul Batalla. Elvira Batalla Giles (Mother), Siblings; Jova Batalla Giles, Eva Batalla Giles, Lucia Pham (Zekjko Milovic), Salvador Najera Giles , Santa Batalla.
Sobreviviendo Sheilla Batalla y 2 Hijas: Elvira Batalla  y  Xochitl Batalla, 4 Nietos hermosos: Mia, Isaiah, Xitlaly, y X’naiya.  Yolanda A. Herrera y 2 Hijos: Omar Batalla y Raul Batalla. Su madre Elvira Batalla Giles, Hermanos; Jova Batalla Giles, Eva Batalla Giles, Lucia Pham (Zekjko Milovic), Salvador Najer Giles, y Santa Batalla.
