Raquel Emeri Loya, age 15 months, died on May 26, 2020, in Salt Lake City Primary Children Hospital. She was born on February 11, 2019, in Salt Lake City Primary Children Hospital to Saul Loya and Alondra Irem Gallegos.
Raquel loved to listen to classical music, which soothed her. She loved watching zombie cartoons with her big sissy Roez. She loved to eat food, salmon and white rice was her favorite. Raquel was her own advocate as well as many other children that shared her diagnosis of polymicrogyria. In her short life, she touched the souls of people all around the world with her strength and determination.
She is survived by her parents, sister Roezmelli Loya, grandparents Maria Romero, Orlando Contreras, and Maria Raquel Martinez, aunts Paloma Gallegoa and Ana Loya, uncles Froylan Gallegos, Orlando “Tito” Contreras, and Jose Flores, cousins Paxton Gallegos, Kevyn Flores, and Iram Pedraza.
She is preceded in death by her grandfather Froylan Gallegos, great-grandpa Manuel Martinez Sanchez.
 
Viewing is limited to 50 people at a time, but all are welcome. Additionally, there will be a live streaming of services for those interested, but cannot, or hesitant to attend due to travel or Covid-19 concerns.
