Randle Bee Jones
March 16, 1947 — November 3, 2020
Randle Bee Jones was born March 16, 1947 to Stan and Winifred Jones and went home to his Heavenly Father on November 3, 2020. He fought a short, yet brave battle with a brain tumor.
Randy proudly served in the army during the Vietnam War before marring his sweetheart, Patti Branin, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on November 6, 1968. They had 52 wonderful years together. In that time, they had 6 kids, 10 grandkids and 2 great grandkids.
Randy was a very loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who had a big heart.
Randy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served faithfully in numerous callings but the one that he loved the most was teaching. Whether it was the Primary kids or the adult Sunday School class, he loved it.
Randy taught himself to play the drums in high school and it became a lifelong passion. He was in a few bands over the years and he loved playing 50’s and 60’s rock and roll music. His family has great memories of going to gigs and watching dad and grandpa play the drums. He had a love of music and there was always music in the house. And more often then not, he was drumming to it. Whether that was on the bench at church, on the book he was reading or on the steering wheel.
Randy was very artistic and would doodle, paint and write through out the years.
He had a wicked sense of humor and was very sarcastic. He was very friendly and would talk to everyone.
Randy is survived by his eternal companion, Patti Jones and their 6 children: Rebecca Vansickle, Rachelle Jones, Matthew Jones, Kristin (Joe) Meanea, Stephen (Noelle) Jones and Bryan (Marissa) Jones. 10 grandchildren: David, Alexis, Matthew, Elliot, Griffyn, Derek, Jackson, Piper, Kiera and Jayden. And 2 great grandchildren: Josie and Archie.
A viewing will be held on Friday, November 6, 2020 from 6-8 pm and a Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 11:00 am. Both will be held at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 S Redwood Road Taylorsville, UT. Masks and social distancing are required.
For those unable to attend the services, Memorial Mortuaries and Cemeteries are offering a live streaming of the funeral service on Zoom.
