Ramona Singleton

January 15, 1920 — October 27, 2017

Ramona Lefler Singleton passed away peacefully on Friday, October 27, 2017 surrounded by her family.  She was born on January 15, 1920 in Francis, Utah, to John Rossel Lefler and Sarah Elsie Atkinson Lefler.  She was raised in Woodland, Utah and attended schools in Kamas, Utah where her dad was occasionally her teacher.  She attended BYU in 1940 where she met her future husband, William Garth Singleton.  They were married on August 2, 1941 and their marriage was solemnized on April 15, 1943 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Together they raised two sons in Holladay, Utah.  Ramona worked as an administrative assistant and spent most of her career with Gerber Food Company.  After retiring, she and Garth spent a great deal of time traveling.  Among her favorite vacations were visiting Australia and Asia.  She enjoyed cooking; her chili sauce was especially treasured!  She spent the winter months at the Funny Farm in Beaver Dam, Arizona with family and friends.  She always had a treat and a Coke to offer her visitors.
Ramona is survived by her sons, Merlin (Phyllis) Singleton, Paul (Peggy) Singleton and brother Gerald Lefler.  She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister and a great grandson.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Mountain View Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, Utah at 11 a.m. with a viewing prior to the service beginning at 9:30 a.m.  Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery.
The family wants to offer their sincere appreciation to the staff at Brighton Home Health for their Hospice care and the nurses and staff at The Wentworth of Willow Creek who took excellent care of Ramona in her final months.  A special thank you to her wonderful nurse and friend, Kaara.
