Ramona Pexton Nichols passed away from natural causes on March 17, 2014. “Monie” was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 20, 1928 to Ray and Nelda Pexton. She spent some of her growing up years in Nephi, Utah as well as Salt Lake City, Utah.
After his return from the Navy during WWII, she married Frederick Willard Nichols Jr., “Will,” on September 10, 1948. She attended the University of Utah and became an avid U of U fan.
While raising four children, she also found time volunteering as a “pink lady” at Holy Cross Hospital. Ramona enjoyed knitting and reading while keeping up with current events. As a couple they enjoyed many vacations to the Oregon coast.
Monie is survived by a brother, Richard Pexton; children, Cary (Patricia), Kristi Naylor (Russell), Shelley Fenton, Tracy (Michelle); 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way. She is preceded in death by her husband, Will, and sisters, Norma Blake and LaNae Freed.
The family would like to thank all those at Legacy House of Taylorsville and Aspire Home Health and Hospice for all the care they have given to Ramona.
