Ramona Neeley Bahr

Ramona Neeley Bahr passed away peacefully on Friday, September 1, 2017, surrounded by her family, at the age of 62 due to the effects of a stroke. Ramona was born in her parents’ car on November 13, 1954, on their way to the hospital in Salt Lake City. She was the oldest of six children born to Raymond Powell Neeley and Berneice Nash Neeley. She grew up in a home adjacent to Granite High School, and graduated from Granite High in 1973. After high school, she attended Stevens Henager College and LDS Business College. She began a lifelong career working for the LDS Church, which was interrupted only by an LDS mission to Nova Scotia (1977-1979), and the births of each of her sons. At the time of her death, she was still employed by the LDS Church, having worked there for 42 years.
Ramona and her husband met in “the garden” between their two homes. She then married her sweetheart Richard S Bahr in the Jordan River Temple on March 30, 1990. Together, Richard and Ramona raised two sons, Dustin and Daniel.
Ramona was always very active in the LDS Church, and served in many callings, including 1st counselor in the Relief Society Presidency, chorister, and pianist. Obedience to the commandments of God was her hallmark.
Some of Ramona’s hobbies included jigsaw puzzles, watching and playing tennis and watching baseball. She was well loved by everyone who knew her.
Ramona is survived by her husband Richard, two sons Dustin (Lindsay) Bahr, and Daniel (Krystal) Bahr, and by a grandson Dean and a granddaughter Nevaeh. She is also survived by brothers Lloyd (Linda) Neeley, Ken (Debbie) Neeley, Steven (Christine) Neeley, and Mark (Jill) Neeley, and a sister Diana Neeley.
Preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Kearns Utah Stake Center, 4260 West 5215 South, Kearns, Utah, with viewing from 9:00 am to 9:45 am. A viewing will also be held Friday, September 8, 2017 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the same location. Interment will be at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 S Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
