Ramona May

“I was born December 16, 1919, the fourth of seven children of Alfred and Jane Habbeshaw in Salt Lake City, UT. I loved going dancing with my sister at the Coconut Grove, where I met my future husband, Paul Stanley May. Wow, could he dance! We were married from April 30, 1939 until his death on April 6, 1969. Together we raised three beautiful and loving children, Virginia, Ronald, and Marilyn. They gave me 7 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Paul and I loved gardening, traveling, and golfing together. My sister Ruth was my best friend from my youth until her death. She taught me how to quilt and was my trusted confidante. I was also very close to my baby sister Rea, who made weekly trips to Wendy’s with Ruth and me. I love children, flowers, the LDS Church, Coke, mashed potatoes and gravy, root beer floats, and my extended family. I’ll miss you all while we are apart!”
Our mom was preceded in death by her sweetheart Paul; parents; brothers, Russ, Richard, Ron, Bobby Lee; sister Ruth White; son-in-law John Lugenbeel; and daughter-in-law Priscilla May.
A funeral will be held on Friday, March 21, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. with a viewing one hour prior at the Brighton 5th Ward, 2301 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S.). Interment to follow at Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 E. 7800 S.
