Ramona Kate Barlow Zitting

Ramona passed peacefully in her daughters arms and surrounded by her family, on October 1, 2018, in West Jordan, UT. Ramona was born on August 15, 1937 in Salt Lake City, UT to Albert and Vio Barlow. She married Carl Olson Zitting, February 11, 1955. Carl passed away in 1984 and she had been waiting 35 years faithfully to be reunited with him.
She was very artistic. She loved drawing, painting ceramics with her sisters and friends, reading, crocheting, and she especially enjoyed that she was able to teach her skills to some of her grandchildren. Her greatest accomplishment in life was her loving family. She was the most happy when she was around family. She made each one feel special in their own way and always found an accomplishment of theirs to be proud of. She would brag to anyone and everyone who would listen, and she truly meant each word. Whomever she was with was her favorite.
Her love for traveling took her to many places. Her favorites were visiting her kids in California, Washington, and Indiana, usually with a grandchild by her side. But she also loved going to Mexico and Canada. She always looked forward to her annual trips with her sisters. Her biggest and heart felt vacation was Hawaii with her sisters.
Holidays were always a big deal in her home but none more than Christmas. She loved decorating her home with the help of her grandchildren and loved baking with them for each occasion. She especially looked forward to her annual Christmas party with her kids and grandkids. Everybody leaving with a sack of homemade goodies and gifts.
She lived at West Jordan Senior Living for her last years, where she made many friends that she enjoyed socializing with, playing games, crafting and celebrating. Her closest friend Theddie Harris is the community angel who cared for her until the very end.
She is survived by 12 incredible children, 30 amazing grandchildren, 29 marvelous great grandchildren, 17 loving siblings, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by her wonderful husband Carl Zitting, father Albert Barlow, mother Vio Barlow, sister and best friend Laura Denos, grandson Terrell Webber, grandson Zachary Zitting, and 16 siblings.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018, 11 AM, at 8136 S Old Bingham Highway, West Jordan, with a viewing two hours prior to the service. Interment to immediately follow the service at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan.
