Born December 3, 1933 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and friend passed away December 14 peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones at the age of 80. He married his honey, Susie Lopez in 1954. Ramon was happiest being outdoors, fishing and hunting with his family. He also enjoyed Wendover trips with his honey. He loved to feed and watch the birds in his back yard. Ray was a hard-working man and loved to tinker and could fix anything. He was a loyal member of Laborers Local 295 for over 50 years. He was a loving and caring man always willing to give a helping hand. His lessons and stories will live in our hearts. We will forever remember his silly smile. Survived by his loving wife Susie of 59 years; children Mike (Shauna) Madrid, Madelene (Mark) Blair, Annette (Mike) Katsanevakis, Diana (John) Nowaskey, Laurie (Nate A.) Reading, Liz (Kirk) Dittmar; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, and sister, Frances Rivera. A viewing will be held Thursday, December 19th, 8 – 10 p.m. with Rosary at 9 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier, 4501 W. 5215 So. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment, Redwood Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers in Ray’s memory the family encourages donations be made to the St. Frances Xavier Children’s Christmas Fund.
