Raelene Mcdermaid

Our cute, feisty and wonderful mom passed away on Mother’s Day, May 11, 2014, exactly 27 years to the day that our Dad left us. Born May 19, 1929 in Salt Lake City, UT to Ray Alfred and Birdie Fox Herzog. Married Lamar “Mac” McDermaid September 14, 1947. Together they had six children.
Mom loved her kids and grandkids and would sacrifice anything for their happiness. She enjoyed decorating which made our holidays special. Everyone was warmly welcomed into her home and made to feel like family. Mom had a great love for animals and music. She had such a kind heart and took tender care of Dad during his illness. She was the first person to win a junior roller-skating medal this side of the Mississippi.
Survived by her children, Cathy (Steve) Zabriskie, Rick (Dolores), Paul (Kathy), Bob (Melody) and Doug; daughter in law, Vickie; 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; 4 half-brothers; brother in law, Don Bradley. Preceded in death by husband, Lamar; son, Scott and daughter in law, Sally.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, May 15, 2014 at Redwood Memorial, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 6-8:00 pm and one hour prior at the mortuary. Interment to follow.
