Rae Dean Christensen

Rae Dean Christensen, 80, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family in West Jordan, Utah. She was born on November 14, 1935 in Pocatello, Idaho to Carl Roberts and Florence Winn Roberts. She married Ray Christensen on September 10, 1964 and they were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on April 14, 1977. Rae Dean loved crossword puzzles, reading, crocheting, and attending musicals. She enjoyed tap dancing in her younger years. She loved to travel the country visiting historical sites and spent many summers camping. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and dachshunds. She was active in the LDS church and loved serving in the Jordan River Temple and the Genealogy Center. She worked for Mountain Bell, starting as a switchboard operator. She retired after 35 years of service.
Rae Dean is survived by her children, Susan (Steve) Vincent, Shelley (Danny) Bergin, Carl (Heather) Christensen, and step-son, Leslie Christensen, 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren with two on the way, sister, LoRee Maughan, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Christensen, her parents, brother, Donald, sister, Dorothy, and her many dogs.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 1 PM at the Prairie 10th Ward, 7337 South Grizzly Way (5150 West), West Jordan, UT. A viewing will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016 from 7-9 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT, as well as one hour prior at the church. Interment services to follow at Memorial Redwood Cemetery.
