Rachel Jayne Hutchinson
November 10th, 1992 – April 17th, 2016
Taylorsville, UT – Our sweet Rachel passed away Sunday April 17th, 2016. Beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She touched the lives of so many during her short time here.
Rachel was born in Lisburn, Northern Ireland but lived most of her life in Taylorsville, UT. She graduated from Taylorsville High School in 2011, where she enjoyed participating in Concert Choir, Graces and the Best Buddies program. She also graduated from Seminary. After high school, Rachel went on to earn her associates degree from Salt Lake Community College where she was involved in the Peer Action Leadership program (PALS). SLCC was also where she discovered a love for Zumba and looked forward to Myra’s Zumba class.
At the time of her passing she was enrolled in the UVU Elementary Education program, where she had just completed the first half of her course. She especially enjoyed opportunities to work in Moss Elementary and Barratt Elementary, Challenger School and Little Scholars. Rachel loved children and was motivated to make a difference in their lives and help shape the future.
Despite some very challenging circumstances during her life, Rachel remained faithful and true to the end. She attended church and the temple regularly, and loved the Oquirrh Mountain Temple the best.
Rachel loved her nieces and nephews, taking the time to visit them, hug them, read to them and let them know how special they were to her. She loved all her family and told us often.
Although our hearts are saddened that Rachel is not physically here with us, we are at peace with knowing that she is happy and has found the relief she so desperately needed.
Rachel is survived by her mother Jennifer; her father Malcolm (Margaret); sisters Amanda (Jeremy) Manheimer, Victoria (James) Haas, Judith, brother: Reuben. Nieces and Nephews; Alex, Dallin, Caleb, Lia, Cora, Ethan and Tyler. Grandparents Elsie Finlay, Jean Hutchinson, Alex and Josephine Spence. As well as loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Her beloved grandfathers John Finlay and Tom Hutchinson, whom she missed so terribly, preceded her in death.
