One of Murray City’s finest, Richard Scott Baker, passed away on December 17, 2012. Scott was born on February 8, 1953, in Salt Lake City, Utah to George K. Baker and Jesse Hill. He was a graduate of Bountiful High School in 1972. He completed his Bachelors Degree at the University of Utah where he was a lifetime member of the TKE Fraternity.
Scott was loved as an outstanding member of the community. He made an impact on many people throughout the community. He thoroughly enjoyed his job as President of the Murray Area Chamber of Commerce. He was loved by many of his chamber friends and acquaintances. As an avid fan of the University of Utah, he would tailgate with friends prior to football games and loved to make jokes about “the team down south.” He was the type of Utah fan that Max Hall would love. He loved everything Disney. He collected memorabilia and loved traveling to Disneyland. He also loved to go boating and waterskiing.
Scott is survived by his children, C. Todd Baker and Aubrey Kuefner (Dave) along with a brother Rod Baker (Louise). He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew Brian.
Please come donning your “red” and join us for a celebration of Scott’s life and accomplishments on Saturday, December 22, 2012, 11 a.m. at the Murray Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray. A viewing will be held beginning at 9:45 a.m. prior to the service. Following the service we will celebrate the way he would want us to by having food and the sharing of memories. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Murray Area Chamber of Commerce Youth Chamber Scholarship Fund.
Scott, you will be missed by all!
