Phyllis Ruby Carlson Pearson

Phyllis Ruby Carlson Pearson, age 76 passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 3, 2017. She was born August 1, 1940 to Gordon Samuel and Ruby Elva Carlson. She was a 1958 graduate of Granite High School. She married Jerry George Pearson on December 26, 1970. They had three children together. She worked for Salt Lake County Library System and retired in 2004. She loved reading, word games and spending time with family and friends. She was blessed with wonderful friendships all of her life. The past 5 years were mostly spent being an amazing grandma. These were her most precious relationships. The grandkids loved when she would crawl on the floor and give them horsey rides. She will be remembered for her humor and laughter. In 2004, she began her courageous fight with cancer. The family would like to thank the following medical professionals for their kindness and care. Dr Jonathan Whisenant and Dr Greg Chipman. Dr. Jane Macpherson and McKenzie with Quality Hospice. Merin Kinikini and her staff at IMC Nutrition Services. Charlotte and the staff at AVH Infusion Therapy and the staff at University Infusion Pharmacy. All of you, were a huge part in her fight to live! Phyllis is survived by her loving husband, Jerry, to whom she was married for nearly 47 wonderful years and together were sealed for eternity in the Jordan River LDS temple.  Also survived by her three children Greg (Melissa), Randy (Stephanie) and Becky (Jess) and Six grandchildren Brandon, Madux, Mia, Tate, Nash and Ruby along with brother Mike; brother-in- law Bob and sister-in-law Irene. Preceded in death by her parents; brother Bill; sister Carol and her in-laws Sarah & George Pearson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 11:00am. There will be a viewing Monday night May 8, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 and again one hour prior to the funeral.
