Phyllis Mary Hurskainen, 70, of Taylorsville passed away on November 2, with her family by her side.
She was born on July 25, 1944 in Salt Lake City, Utah the daughter of Verl H. Sr. and Phyllis Buxton. She was raised in Salt Lake City and attended Highland High School. She married Joseph Hurskainen on May 3, 1963.
We are blessed to have learned many valuable lessons from Phyllis during her 70 years. Among them were to always take pride in having a clean home, set aside time to talk about the little things in life, and listen to show how much you care. Her main passion involved being a beautician, which she graduated from the Robert Steur College of Beauty. In her spare time she enjoyed a good crossword or jigsaw puzzle and shopping with the family whenever she had a chance.
She is survived by her husband Joseph, son Christopher, granddaughters Evelece and Jaida, grandson Anthony, sister Shirlene Peterson and mother-in-law Frances Hurskainen.
She was preceded in death by her parents Verl H. Sr. and Phyllis Buxton, brother Verl Jr. and son Joseph Jr.
We will be holding one more reunion with family and friends to cherish all the memories that are meant to last forever. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 Saturday November 8, at Murray Memorial Mortuary 5850 S 900 E. A Viewing will be held one hour prior to services.
