Pauline Bangerter Jensen

Pauline Bangerter Jensen, age 95, passed away August 20, 2016 in her West Valley City, UT home. Born August 3, 1921 in Granger, UT to William Henry and Isabelle Bawden Bangerter, the fourth of eleven children. Married William Andrus Jensen of Hunstville, UT October 3, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple. Prior to her marriage, she enjoyed life on the family farm and loved horses. She was a lifelong, avid, sports fan, rooting for the New York Yankees, “Murderer’s Row” in her younger years. Graduated from Cyprus High School in 1939. Pauline attended comptometer school and worked in the LDS Presiding Bishops Office for four and a half years. During this time she often commented that she wouldn’t dare go into Salt Lake City without her hat and gloves. She accompanied her husband on many employment adventures that took them to Stibnite, ID, Emmett, ID, and eventually Granger, UT. Together they served many missions: Arequipa, Peru, Chicago Temple, Jordan River Temple, Temple Square in Salt Lake City, and Family History Center at the Utah State Prison. Pauline was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many capacities across the various organizations of the Church where she made and fostered many lifelong friendships. Her home and dinner table were always open to extended family, friends, neighbors and visitors. She is survived by her nine children, Steven (Linda), Craig (Roberta), Marlo (Ginger), Becky Fuller (Brent), Lynette Moore (Russell), Judith Miller (Robert), John (Rebecca), Ramona Pace (Ross), Deone Mears (Mark), 52 grandchildren 127 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Marion Lindsay and Naomi Christofferson. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, five brothers and three sisters. Viewing for family and friends will be held Friday, August 26th from 6-8 pm at the Constitution LDS Ward (Granger Stake Center – 2850 W. 3835 S. West Valley City). Funeral services will be held at the same location, Saturday August 27th at 11 am with a viewing from 9-10:30 am. Interment directly following services at Redwood Memorial Cemetery 6500 S. Redwood Road.
