Paula Jean Jensen

November 26, 1947 — January 11, 2022

Paula Jean Jensen, 74, died January 11, 2022, at her home in Mobile, Alabama. She was born on November 26, 1947, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Paul Alma and Verna Merle Woodruff. She was the youngest of four children, an older brother (Bill) and two older sisters (Katheryn and Marilyn).

Paula was able to commemorate her 74th birthday recently with celebrations and visits from friends and family. Although her time on Earth was shorter than expected, she lived every day inspiring and uplifting others. She loved to discuss her memories of her childhood and loved to talk about her family growing up. One of her favorite memories was as a youth camp counselor and another of her helping her dad work on his car. She also loved to share stories of her children growing up, and every fond memory made her so happy and at peace. She was a very generous person, giving her time and energy to everyone else and took satisfaction in making others feel comfort and happiness.

In 1969, she married Garth D Jensen in the Salt Lake Temple on October 6th. At the time of Paula’s death in 2022, they had been married for 52 years. Garth was the love of Paula’s life, and they had wonderful adventures together. They raised three children (Michelle, Cody and Kalan). She lived in many different cities and states, traveled the country, and was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her number and word games, and actually took a lot of enjoyment in the organization of family finances and bookkeeping. She cherished every moment she was able to spend time with her friends and family.

In 1998, Garth and Paula moved to Mobile, Alabama where Garth retired from the U.S. Coast Guard and they decided to settle down. Although Paula always thought she might return to Salt Lake City one day, she made many friends and touched the lives of so many people throughout the years, making a wonderful home out of wherever she lived. She was always grateful for all the love and support she received over the years, even through the final days of her life. The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude.

Everyone who knew her will certainly remember how loving and sweet she was to everyone she met. She was truly a caring person who touched the lives of everyone she met. She was full of tender love and happiness, and she loved to share her happiness with everyone around her. She had a peaceful nature about her and always had a positive impact on those close to her and strangers alike. She had a warm heart and was always willing to listen to each of us, giving advice and providing peace and comfort. She always put everyone else’s needs before her own. Everyone could appreciate her genuine and pure soul and always enjoyed her uplifting spirit. Her loving, playful and often silly personality will be sorely missed.

Paula was very proud of her husband and loved him very much, and remained by his side through every amazing and trying time throughout their wonderful marriage. She was also extremely proud of each of her children and grandchildren, and loved them very much. She is survived by her husband Garth Jensen, Mobile, Alabama; her daughter Michelle Jensen, Aurora, Colorado; her oldest son Cody (Jessica) Jensen, Clarksville, Tennessee; her youngest son Kalan Jensen, Scottsbluff, Nebraska; and her 2 grandchildren, Julian and
Justin Jensen. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Merle Woodruff, her sister, Katheryn and her spouse Emery Webster.
