Paul Dame was born in Hilversum, The Netherlands to Sijmen and Ida Luise on April15, 1923. His Father-In-Heaven chose to call him home on October 27, 2016 at the age of 93.
He was married to Laurence “Laura” Beuk on January 5, 1949. Having survived World War II as forced labor for the Germans, he immigrated to American in 1953 with his wife and two children after joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Holland. They settled in Utah in Salt Lake City where they learned to speak English and raised a responsible and grateful family. They had an additional 4 children born to them in the United States. Paul served in many church callings. He was a counselor to several Bishops and the Executive Secretary, one of his great qualities was being organized and getting things done. He was a great asset to Bishops because he was willing to do whatever they asked and run all the errands for them. He also loved to drive and would go anywhere for you to get whatever you needed. He was the Branch President in the Netherlands when they were on their mission and a Branch President at a senior living facility. His service also including two missions with his wife: one in the Netherlands and one in Tallahassee, Florida.
Paul is survived by his six children Louise, Anneke (Ernie), John (Susan), Tina (Doug), Ellen (Michael), and Mark (Jane), 26 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Laura, his parents, three brothers and one sister, one grandson and a great grandchild.
Viewing will be held on Friday, November 4 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Memorial Mortuary (5860 South 900 East). Funeral services will be held at the Riverside 2nd Ward (464 West Germania Ave. Murray, Utah) on Saturday, November 5 at 11:00 a.m. Viewing one hour prior to services. Interment will take place at Larkin Sunset Gardens 10600 South 1700 East, Sandy, Utah. Condolences may be left at www.MemorialUtah.com.Service Information
