Paul or “Tom”, a nickname his mother gave him, was born to Paul Leon “PL” Brown, Sr. and Nina Mae Bello in Hunter, Utah.
He grew up, worked many hours and drove a cattle truck on his father’s dairy farm. Paul also drove a coal truck for his uncle. Dad said he “drove the truck for 100,000 miles without putting a scratch on it.”
Paul always had a passion for driving, owning and working on cars. He became a GM mechanic for Ken Garff where he worked for over 35 years. After retirement he continued to work on cars for many years at Safety Brake Company.
He married Charlotte Jane Elliot, their children were, David Elliot and Michael Dean, and they later divorced. He went on to marry Marie Atkinson who shortly after died of cancer. Then he married Geraldine “Jerie” Abbott and they had three children, Lorin Lee, Darrell Lynn and Charyssa Ann, they later divorced.
Paul loved to hunt, fish, bowl, play baseball, ballroom dance and work on cars. He traveled all through Europe in his younger days. Paul was a tank Mechanic in WWII with the 9th Armored Division and was part of The Battle of the Bulge and the Remagen Bridge. In the last several years of his life he enjoyed going to Costco to visit his daughter. He loved the happy greetings and hugs from fellow employees. We all loved seeing him, spending break time together and helping him shop. He had a personality that drew people to him and a few lifelong friends. Papa will be missed by many.
He is survived by: his children, David (Janet) of Kearns, Utah, and their children, Todd Elliot, Anthony Ted, Michael David and Cristopher Burke; Lorin (Jessica) of Phoenix, Arizona, their children, Chase Chandler, Parker Ashby, and Hudson Cy; Darrell (Brenda) of Millcreek, Utah, their daughter, Caitlin Taylor; Charyssa Ann, of Millcreek, Utah; and many great-grandchildren and extended family.
