Patsy Alice Kay passed away on January 13, 2025. She was born in Emery, Utah on February 27, 1944, to Merville Westley and Zola Percinda Burr Simonsen. She married Sherman Glen Kay on July 19, 1966, they were married for over 50 years. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
Patsy was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served for many years as the Ward librarian and held callings in the Relief Society, Young Women’s and Primary.
Our mom was an extremely talented hair dresser. She ran and owned a successful beauty salon for over 40 years. After she retired, she continued to work and see her clients. She donated numerous hours sharing her hair styling skills with family, friends, and those in need.
Patsy had a wonderful sense of style and taste and was immaculate in her appearance. She had a beautiful smile that lit up a room and that she shared with everyone. She was very generous with her time and touched and blessed many lives.
One of her passions was sports, especially basketball and football. She loved movies, traveling, and stalking her grandchildren on social media. She was a dog mom to Dooee, Zoe, and Sunny. She was happiest driving her car and visiting her hometown of Emery, Utah.
More than anything Patsy loved her grandchildren, and they loved her. She attended all their events: basketball, soccer, and football games, and dance and music recitals. She is very loved and will be deeply missed.
Patsy leaves behind her children: Kevin (Connie); Audry (Brett) Wood; Jennifer (Justin) Call; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, 3 sisters, and 4 brothers.
The family is deeply grateful to Bristol Hospice and The Peaks Memory Care, and to the many friends, family, and caregivers who have provided so much love and support.
