Patricia “Pat” Hale Wahlstrom

Our sweet mother, nana and friend, Pat, of Sandy, Utah, passed away on August 29, 2014. She was born on March 17, 1926 to Thomas Hale and Mary Walker Hale in Cleveland, Ohio. Pat grew up in California where she met and married her childhood sweetheart since elementary school, Steven Wahlstrom. They spent 53 amazing years together until his passing in 1997, providing a wonderful example of how married life should be. The family eventually moved to Utah.
She enjoyed her work as a telephone operator and then as an administrative assistant in the fields of education and insurance. Pat was an LDS temple worker and served two LDS missions. Patricia loved animals and enjoyed traveling, antiquing, sewing and researching genealogy. Spending time with her family was on the top of her list. She was quite feisty and thought she could do or say whatever she wanted and then say, “Well, I’m Scotch-Irish you know!”
She is survived by her daughters Susan (Ralph) Jacobs and Wendy (Richard) Barham; grandchildren, Jeffrey Jacobs (Stephanie Muxfeldt), Gena (Brian) Bissell, Cristen (Alan) Garside, Lisa (Lincoln) Jackson, Steven Horspool (Stephenie Kozlowski), Daena ( Michael) Wasson, Jennifer Barham Cammack, Amanda Barham and Kelley (Josh) Braegger; 16 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. Preceded in death by her loving husband, daughters Cathy Horspool and Julie Couture, parents and 3 siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Friday September 5, 2014 at Mountain View Memorial Mortuary, 3115 E. 7800 S. at 11 a.m. with a viewing from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Mountain View Cemetery.
