Patricia Anne Shuman

Patricia Anne Shuman passed away of natural causes on January 30, 2023, in Sandy, Utah at the age of 78. She was born on July 5, 1944, in Rockville Centre, New York to Andrew Francis Wenchel and Phoebe Elizabeth Bedell. She spent 36 years as a schoolteacher and provided education to hundreds of children during her career.
Patricia dabbled in the arts her entire life. After she retired in 2005, she dedicated time to her artwork and became an accomplished watercolorist. She had an avid love for all animals, especially cats, birds, butterflies, and rabbits. This love led her to get involved with Fostering cats and kittens; taking them in until they found their forever homes. Tricia enjoyed traveling, her favorite destinations were Yellowstone, Zion’s National Park, and Monument Valley.
She is survived by Her son Corey (Jessica) Shuman, Granddaughter Alixx Shuman, Great Grandsons Jackson Calvert and Mason Calvert, Brother Andrew F. Wenchel Jr. and sister Linda Sue Allred. She is preceded in death by her father Andrew Wenchel, her mother, Phoebe Wenchel and her nephew Andrew (Drew) Wenchel.
Funeral services will be held at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary on Monday, February 13, 2023, beginning at 11 AM. A viewing will be held that same day beginning at 9 AM until 10:45. The address for the mortuary is 3115 East 7800 South Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121.
