Patricia Ann Olsen

Our loving mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on December 30, 2017 at the age of 75. Pat was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on November 24, 1942 to Orval and Vernice Ames. She grew up in Murray, Utah and graduated from Murray High School.
She married Craig Grant Olsen in June 1961. They had 3 children, Gary was born in 1962, Lisa in 1964 and Larry in 1967. We spent many summers camping and fishing in the Uintahs and created lasting family memories.
She later divorced Craig in July 1981. She was supporting her three children by working at Pykettes, the clothing manufacturing company, for many years. During this time she gave her kids wonderful life experiences by taking them to the movies, buying season passes for Raging Waters and hiking in the Wasatch Mountains. She later worked and retired from Mechanical Service and System in 2006 from job and people that she loved.
She was an avid reader and loved spending time in her garden. She enjoyed knitting and her family received many scarfs throughout the years. She was happiest when she was spending time with her kids and grand-kids. She was a cool mom and grandma that had fun doing all activities, whether it was hiking, going to Lagoon, riding the slides at Raging Waters, playing Dance, Dance Revolution, spending vacations with the kids and traveling to Arizona.
She is survived by her children Gary Olsen, Lisa (Brad) Graham, Larry (Stormy) Olsen, seven grand-kids, as well as her sister, Jeanne Barnes and brother, Roy (Julia) Ames. She was preceded in death by her parents Orval and Vernice Ames.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT. A viewing will be held Thursday morning 10:00-10:45 prior to services. Internment will be at Memorial Redwood Cemetery.Service Information
