Pamela Greene

May 12, 1950 — October 7, 2016

Pamela Louise Greene passed away in Salt Lake City on October 7, 2016 after a sudden illness, surrounded by family and friends.  She was born May 12, 1950 in Pendleton, Oregon to Rand Ralph and Mary Evelyn (McClendon) Greene.
Pam was the oldest in a family of three children.  She attended Eastern Oregon College and Brigham Young University for her undergraduate studies, working summers in a lumber mill in Oregon to earn her college money.  She later attended the University of Oregon in the mid 70’s graduating with a Master’s degree in Speech Audiology.
Later she moved to Washington DC, where she had a highly successful career on Capitol Hill working first for Oregon Senator Bob Packwood, and later for California Congressman Ron Packard.  In 1992 she moved to Utah where she pursued doctoral studies in educational administration at BYU.  She was hired as a speech pathologist with the Davis School District where she worked until she retired in 2015.  She was a lifelong member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many callings, particularly in music.
Pam began her lifelong love of music in childhood.  She began directing choirs while attending the University of Oregon LDS Institute, and directed or participated in choirs everywhere she lived.  She was serving as Ward Music Chairman in her ward at the time of her death.   She was a member of the Mormon Choir of Washington, and for the past several years sang with the Sterling Singers and Utah Voices, in Salt Lake City.
In addition to music, Pam loved her dogs, genealogy, waterskiing, backpacking, the Oregon Coast, attending the Utah Shakespeare Festival, and any good card game.  No one was faster at putting together a puzzle.
She is survived by brothers: Glenn (Loraine) Greene and Craig Greene; 2 nephews and 2 nieces.  She is preceded in death by her parents.
