Oscar Alfonso Contreras passed away at 59 on September 19, 2024, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on May 9, 1965, in Chihuahua, Mexico to Jose Ignacio Contreras and Raquel Maria Contreras. He married Francella Vigil on October 25, 2013. Oscar was an avid golfer. He graduated from South High School in 1983. He went to Weber State where he graduated in 1990. He was an All Big Sky Conference Offensive Lineman, 2 years starter under coach Price and coach Arslanian. He was the proud owner of the Old Salt City Jail. Salsa, entrepreneur, cigar connoisseur, politically opinionated, loving grandfather, button pusher, handyman, and music snob are just a few ways we will remember him.
He is survived by his wife Francella, son Edwin, daughter Sara, stepdaughter Victoria, and grandchildren Isaac, Sean, Jacob, Maximus, Julius, Mila, Isabella, Ariel, and Jasmine.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jose and Raquel Contreras and older brother Jose "Pep" Contreras.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the Memorial Redwood Mortuary starting at 2:00 PM with a viewing that will be held prior to the service starting at 12:00 PM.
