We are not mourning, we are celebrating a life exceptionally well lived!! Everyone who knew Twyla loved her. She is a saint in whom there is no guile. The hallmark of Twyla’s life was Temple work. She served in the temple for over 20 years. Imagine the crowds of people waiting to thank her on the other side!
Twyla was born on Feb. 9, 1934 in East Mill Creek, Utah and passed away on June 8, 2015 in Murray, Utah. She raised four sons as a single mother, sent them all on missions, and later she served a mission herself. Twyla’s priorities were right. She cared little for material things. “Stuff” didn’t matter, people did. She graduated from Granite High School in 1952, and taught Elementary school for 25 years. She loved to watch old movies and spend time with her family.
Twyla was preceded in death by her father Nathan Baldwin, mother Ethel Bell Parker Baldwin, husband Gerald William Harris, son Michael Steven Harris (Rose), brothers Howard Baldwin (Trudy), LeGrande Baldwin (Joan), sister Mattie Naonda Jenkins (Irvin), and nephew Samual Jenkins.
She is survived by her brother Kay Baldwin (Sydney), sons Vernon Harris (Jill), Hilton Harris (Mary), and Cliff Harris (Ellen), niece Jeannine Turner (Garth), and more grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, and other relatives than you can shake a stick at.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 13 at 12:00 pm in the Steeplechase LDS Chapel, 1788 E. Aintree Ave (approx. 13350 S.), Draper, Utah. The viewing will be from 10:00 am till 11:45 am at the same chapel. Burial at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 S. Redwood Rd, West Jordan, Utah.
