Nyle Frank Cannon

May 2, 1938 — September 1, 2018

Nyle Cannon passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018. He was born May 2, 1938 in Tremonton, Utah, to Rulon and Norma Cannon and grew up in the Sugarhouse area of Salt Lake City. He served a LDS mission in Southern California, and shared his memories of that often. He served in US Army and Army National Guard, and was called up during the Berlin Crisis.
He married Gayle Jensen in the Logan Temple in 1962, and they settled in the Murray area. They were blessed with four children, Brett (Suzy), Kristine Warden (Brian), Jami Huefner (Bill), and Dustin (Christi), 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. His family was his greatest love. He served in numerous callings in the church, loved working with youth, and held many leadership positions. He leaves a legacy of service, always willing to help out anywhere needed.
He and Gayle move to Layton, and enjoyed their life there. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and fought it for 16 years. He spent the last four years of his life at the Holladay Health Care Center, where he was loved and cared for by amazing staff. We give many thanks to those who saw to his needs so lovingly.
He is survived by his wife Gayle, his brother Lynn (Ramona), his four children, 10 grand children, and one great-grandchild. He was proceeded in death by his parents, his sister Katherine McPhie (Reuel) and son-in-law Brian.
