Dad retired from Kennecott after 28 years as an Operations/Wood Picker, Course Crusher, Floatation’s, D-Watering, and then as an Electricians Helper. He went to school at Utah Trade Tech, now known as Salt Lake Community College to become an electrician and for the next 6 years worked as an Electrician. Following his retirement from Kennecott, dad worked at Murray Pawn Shop for the next 10 years. He really enjoyed this job, he loved working with the public and being nearby his favorite thing . . . a good deal. After leaving the pawnshop dad went to work for South Towne as a Security Guard for the next 5 years, retiring at age 70.
Some of Norms hobbies include fishing whenever possible, hunting and camping. He loved collecting guns; he had 25 guns of all types. He loved tinkering with cars, trucks and motorcycles. He could fix anything, if he didn’t have the part or he couldn’t find the part, he would rig something up to work in its place. He loved going to yard sales, DI’s and swap meets. Anywhere he could find a treasure. Dad’s favorite music was classic country and his favorite TV show’s were old black and white cowboy flicks.
We want to thank John and Melodie for the unconditional love and support for our dad. Also “Hearts For Hospice”, with a special thanks to “Little Red Riding Hood”. Doctors Scott Samuelson and Doctor Jeffrey Lee.
There is a hole in our heart shaped like our dad; life as we knew it would forever change on the day God called you home.
