Norma Ninow

October 18, 1928 — October 4, 2016

Norma Leonette Ninow passed away in the early morning hours of October 4, 2016, at the age of 87. Norma lived an unassuming, but extraordinary life characterized by her absolute love for Christ coupled with unwavering faith and devotion. She was born and raised in South Africa by Norman and Edith Muir who loved and lived the gospel of Jesus Christ. She married Frederick G. Ninow shortly after World War II, and several years later, with five young children, sacrificed all they had to emigrate to the United States so their children could be raised with the gospel in freedom. Norma was trained and worked much of her life as an accountant and was practical, direct and had an amazing strength of character and strong will. She had a love for learning and teaching, especially gospel doctrine, and spent the last 30 years carrying on her mother’s legacy of being dedicated to family history and temple work (serving in 7 temples).
She was dearly loved and has positively influenced many people’s lives. She will be sorely missed by her children, Cheree’ (Hank) White, Beth Ninow, Heather (Marcus) Barney, Fred (Staci) Ninow, Norman (Sue) Ninow, Kevin (Lisa) Ninow, along with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.
She wished to thank all her family and friends for their love and kindness with a special thanks to all the staff at Care Source and Collete Johnson of First Choice Hospice.
A visitation will be held Wednesday October 12th starting at 10:00 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Drive, Holladay, UT 84117.
