Norma Jean Morris was born on May 4, 1921 to Mary Jane Wall and Able Gudmun Gudmundsen. Norma passed away peacefully on August 27, 2013.
She was preceded in death by devoted husband Douglas L. Morris.
Norma and Doug were married at the Newhouse Hotel on May 8, 1946. They had two loving children, Scott Morris (Colleen) and Deborah Morris Stake (Peter). She adored her four grandchildren – Christopher Morris (Jenifer), Sarah Zilberstheyn, Elizabeth Stake and Rachael Stake. Beloved great-grandchildren are Rhiannon and Branwyn Morris, Emilia and Gabriel Zilberstheyn.
Norma was an avid golfer and longtime member of Willow Creek Country Club. She and Doug enjoyed golfing and traveling with their many good friends.
Norma grew up in the township of Taylorsville, on a farm. She loved to tell stories about her siblings and herself. She told of adventures and misadventures, usually involving cows, snakes or irrigation canals.
Norma was a model and buyer for Aurbach’. She started and ran the “Young Sophisticates” department at Aurbach’. She was a great seamstress and could tailor like a pro. In Later years she developed a talent for oil painting. Playing cards with her friends was particularly enjoyable for her.
A viewing will be held on September 7, 2013 from 12 Noon to 2:00 PM at Mountain View Memorial Mortuary and Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South with graveside services and interment to follow.
