Norma Kissen

Our loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Norma Kissen, passed away September 4, 2013 in West Jordan surrounded by her family. Norma was born May 18, 1923 in Brooklyn, New York to Sarah Stein and Morris Silverberg. She married Harry Kissen March 14, 1966. Norma loved to perform – whether it was singing, dancing, or telling jokes. She sang professionally in the Catskill Mountains of New York. Music was a big part of her life. She played the piano beautifully. She was the life of any gathering. The best part of Norma’s life was her son, Victor; he was truly the light of her life. She raised him by herself for a number of years. We will truly miss her. She is survived by her son, Victor (Karen) Gordon; granddaughters, Ali Gordon, Jessica (Jad) Howell and great grandchildren, Jack Kendrick Howell, Katelyn Mary Howell, and Dashiell Christopher Howell. Preceded in death by her husband, Harry; her parents and her sister, Lee Wilensky. Graveside services will be held Monday, September 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, with a gathering one hour prior to services in the mortuary.
