Noel Dean Clark

September 20, 1930 — February 8, 2021

Noel Dean Clark, age 90 passed away peacefully in his sleep February 8, 2021 at his home in Fairview Utah. He was born September 20, 1930 to Otto and Jessie Clark in Mount Pleasant. He and his older brother Blaine were the only two children. Noel married Lula (Madge) Burnside on June 3, 1949. Together they had seven children: Arlinda, John, Robin, Trudy, Leon, Keith, and Sitha.
Noel served with great pride in the US Army during the Korean War conflict.
Noel always had a natural curiosity from a young age about how things worked, and was a self-taught electrical Engineer. The last 2 years of high school he designed and built KNS, the first high school radio station in the United States that was approved by the FCC. He was never far from a project. He loved to work on clocks, cars, electronics, and everything in between. His ability to learn quickly on the job led to a lengthy career with KSL TV. Mention the name Noel Clark around KSL and the response was likely to be “You mean our resident genius?” as mentioned in the KSL newsletter from January of 1980. He was integral to setting up the new studio in downtown Salt Lake and kept it running smoothly.
Sadly Madge passed away suddenly on March 21st, 1987. Through his employment at KSL he met his second wife, Carol Laine Blomquist. The two were wed on May 5th, 1988 and loved to spend time together at their cabin in Fairview Canyon. Noel loved to be in the mountains where he enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking, hunting, and cooking over an open fire. He also enjoyed traveling the country with Carol.
Noel is survived by Carol, 7 children, 17 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 5 stepchildren, 3 step grandchildren, and 1 step great grandchild.
Noel will be laid to rest February, 19 2021 at the Memorial Redwood Cemetery in West Jordan, Utah.
