Michelle Forgie Nielsen
December 4, 1947 – June 13, 2018
Our loving mother and grandmother returned to our Father in Heaven on June 13, 2018 where she joyfully reunited with her husband, Steven Dale Nielsen, and parents Lowell and Melba Forgie. We will miss her dearly. Michelle was born and raised in Sandy, UT and stayed in the very same place to raise her children. She loved her home and family and that is where she was happiest. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she looked forward to that each year. In fact, she had what was affectionately called the Christmas Room because she liked to keep a small tree and other Christmas decorations up all year.
Michelle will be remembered for her love and commitment to her family. Her faith was also a central part of her life. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and played an active role in providing service to the people around her, as well as helping progress family history work through indexing. She had a very strong testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ and was very faithful. Michelle was an excellent cook and the perfect example of a mother and homemaker. She always made you feel loved and welcome in her home, and it was a place you wanted to be. She always put everyone before herself. Michelle was great at sewing and crocheting and made many blankets and hats for her children and grandchildren. She even crocheted many winter hats and scarves and donated them to help those in need in cold winter months. Michelle was a gifted artist whose talents stretched from sketching to painting and from portraits to landscapes. She had a great eye for seeing people as they really were, and how their Father in Heaven saw them.  In her spare time, if she wasn’t doing something artistic, she enjoyed watching sports, particularly golf and tennis.
Michelle is survived by her children and their spouses, Steve Nielsen, Keven Nielsen (Natasha,) Jon Nielsen, Kip Nielsen (Leslie,) Coby Nielsen, Cami Lance (Nik.) and fifteen grandchildren. Michelle was a woman of strong faith and love of family, who was loved by all those around her. She touched the lives of others and changed the world through her kindness, generosity, and joyful spirit.
