Salt Lake City, UT- Nico was finally called home on the afternoon of February 12, 2021. He was greeted at the veil by his Father Francisco Rojo and his Mother Laura Alcalde, Grandparents and a host of many other loved ones.
He was born on August 21, 1962 to Francisco Rojo Aranda and Laura Alcalde Rangel in Mexico City, Mexico.
 
He is survived by his 4 Brothers-Mauricio Rojo, Hector Hugo Rojo (Karla), Claudio Rojo (Laura), Julio Cesar Rojo (Debra) and his Girlfriend Jody Olthuis.
 
His Nephews and Nieces-Emmanuel Rojo, Tatiana Orozco, Franchezka Hohaia, Kevin Rojo, Evander Rojo, Gabriel Rojo, Sorsha Moreno, Melissa Rojo, Stefan Rojo, Ina Kang, Camila Rojo and Adrian Rojo.
 
He was fond of his Nephews and Nieces and treated them all as if they were his own kids and showered them with love and presents many times.
 
He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1976 and a year later was sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple 1977 with his family for time and all eternity. He served his mission in the Mexico Monterrey Mission from 1983 to 1985 and some of that time was spent as an AP to the mission President.
 
He attended the University of Brigham Young and Studied Business Management. He loved Fighter Jets and dreamt of flying for the Airforce so he joined the ROTC. He served in the Young men presidency, was a Sunday School Instructor along with many other church callings.
His first love was dancing and started at a young age with his brothers and later performed at Academia de la Danza in Mexico City. He toured professionally in Japan, Canada, Italy, Central America and Mexico. In the US, he danced at BYU for the Young Ambassadors and the Lamanite Generation and later on became the Lamanite Generations dance Instructor. One of his many talents as an Artist, was sculpting and painting. He also participated as backup singer and chorus singer to two major International Singers from Mexico (Juan Gabriel) and Spain (Camilo Sesto). He also was an extra for several episodes of the well renowned tv series “Touched by an Angel”.
 
He was a Globe trotter and loved to travel anywhere he could, especially Europe. He loved Bullet Bikes and Fast cars especially Ferraris and his beloved Maserati. He had the gift of tongues and spoke several languages which included, English, Spanish, Italian and French.
 
He was a loving, kind soul who always took the time to smile and make anybody around him feel special. He mentored many individuals helping them to change their lives and look ahead to the future and better themselves. He looked after his family especially his brothers. He had a way with people and the talent to befriend a complete stranger. He was a giving individual that thought always about others before himself. God be with you ’til we meet again.
Viewing is Friday February 19th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Memorial Lake Hills Mortuary (10055 S. State, Sandy UT). Funeral Service is Saturday February 20th at 11:00am.
Interment is at 12:00pm also at Memorial Lake Hills mortuary (10055 S. State, Sandy UT).
