Nelly Gepkens
January 20, 1931 — June 5, 2018
Petronella Henricka Cornelia Crooymans Gepkens left this world to be with loved ones on the otherside of the veil on June 5, 2018. She was born on January 20, 1931 to Johannes and Catherina Dankers Crooymans in Waalre, NB. The Netherlands.
She married Bernardus (Ben) Johannes Gepkens on June 6, 1953. They immigrated to Salt Lake City, Utah in September 1958. Mom worked for Sorrenson/Abbott laboratories for over 20 years and retired with a full pension. She was a lifetime Member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, and traveled to Lourdes, Fatima, Vatican City, and Jerusalem. She also made many trips to her beloved Holland.
Nelly is survived by her children Mary Taylor, Kathy Roberts, Elsje (Doug) Ricks, John Gepkens, and Peggy (Jason) Patterson, 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, brother Jan Hartjes and sister Jo Schiffer.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ben, grandson Geoffery Gepkens, her Father and Mother, and sisters Riek de Bie and Lies van Gompel.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, 11 AM, at Saint Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 3560 West 3650 South, Salt Lake City, Utah. Interment to follow the Mass at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
