Nellie Harvick

Nellie C. Harvick, age 98, passed away on April 12, 2014 in American Fork, Utah. She was born May 15, 1915 in Vernal, Utah to Robert and Alta McCurdy. She married Toxie Harvick on December 24, 1947. Nellie is the mother of three. She retired at the age of 85 with numerous jobs, including real estate and waitressing.
Mom was an energetic and determined soul (up to the very end). She enjoyed family. She loved being a school crossing guard up until the age of 85. As a child she frequently ran away to live with the Indians, to avoid her parents rules. Horseback was a normal means of travel to get to and from school. Mom traveled with her Dad who was a freighter, in a covered wagon, between Vernal and Price, sometimes taking 3-4 days to complete. She was a life time member of the American Legion.
She is survived by her sister, Ruby Graham; children, Albert (Nancy) Harvick, and Tanya (Allan) Shaw; grandchildren, Rory, Tami, Ted, Thomas, Christine, Todd, Richard, Wendy, Amber, Heidi, Travis and Kim; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Jennifer, Brad, Nicholas, Jordan, Ariel, Miranda, Dallas, Tyler, Sharie, Aslyn, Lanie, Dillon, Graydon, Jolynne, Aspen, Madison, Joaquin, Ani, Corrine, Adin, Kaisha, Savannah, Matthew, Jarom, Hannah, Megan and Michael; great-great-grandchildren, Reese, Taylor, Tyler, Ethan, Joshua, Dixie, Parker, Logan and one on the way; niece, Lori and nephew, Mac.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Toxie; daughters, Pamela Lynn Cook, Patricia Parkin and Leilani Parkin.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road in West Jordan. Interment will follow at Redwood Memorial Park.
