Neldon Adams Williams our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away in the arms of his sweetheart on April 12, 2024 at the age of 90. His happy and vibrant personality will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Ned was born on December 13, 1933, in St. George, Utah to Clayton Park Williams and Enna Marie Adams. Neldon excelled in sports, becoming a star running back at Dixie College.
He met the love of his life, Rula Jean Snow, when they were both in junior high school. They were married in the St. George Temple on May 1, 1953. Last year for their 70th wedding anniversary, they were honored with a wonderful family celebration.
Ned’s industrious spirit began at a young age when his father loaned him money to start a small turkey farm. By age fourteen he was honored as the youngest commercial turkey farmer in the state of Utah. He began his career in the health and fitness industry in the early 1950s, eventually becoming a vice president with European Health Spas. He later started a successful chain of gyms: Spa Fitness Center, Spa Figure & Fitness Center, and Spa Lady.
He will always be remembered for his example of hard work and positive attitude. Ned believed that hard work was good for the soul and he lived that motto every day. He taught his children that anything worth doing was worth doing right, that charity is the most important thing, and that laughter is always the best medicine. His ever-present smile, infectious laughter, and twinkly eyes were his greatest attributes.
Ned was always committed to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Some of his greatest joy came from serving two missions with his dear wife in Sydney Australia and at Salt Lake Temple Square Visitors Center.
In retirement, Neldon remained busy, dabbling in real estate development and construction. He spent countless hours golfing, fishing, and traveling with his beloved wife Rula. Neldon took great pride in his ever-growing family.
Neldon is survived by his wife of 71 years, Rula Jean; his six children, Lisa (Ron) Halm, Wendy Williams, Wade (Lisa) Williams, Holly (Mike) Bushnell, Todd (Cheryl) Williams, and Nathan (Whitney) Williams; 27 grandchildren; and 61 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Deanna (Joel) Pendleton, and his brother-in-law Lowell (Tamara) Snow.
A funeral service will be held at Noon on Saturday, April 20, 2024, preceded by a visitation from 10:00 - 11:45 am, at the Thanksgiving Point Stake Center, 3155 North Garden Drive, Lehi, Utah. Interment will be Sunday at 11:00 am at Memorial Mountain View Cemetery at 3115 Bengal Blvd, Cottonwood Heights, Utah.
Our family would like to thank Edmira and Keegan McGhie as well as Djena Andrade for their loving care.
