Neil J Thompson, Sr

Neil passed away on August 16, 2018 at home surrounded by family. Born May 18, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Andrew J and Mary Elda Thompson.  He married Velma on April 13, 1956. They were later sealed in the Jordan River Temple on August 25, 1995. He is survived by his wife Velma M Thompson, daughter Jackie (Dennis) Baum, sons Randy (Kristy) Thompson, Neil J Thompson, Jr, Paul A Thompson, and Mike (Elaine) Willis, brother Peter A (Joyce) Thompson of Boise, Idaho, and 7 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. He retired after 35 years as an equipment operator for UP&L. We would like to thank Larry Lucas for his wonderful care given to Neil. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018, 11 AM, with a viewing one hour prior to the service at Poplar Grove Ward, 1401 West 700 South, Salt Lake City, Utah. Interment to follow at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
