Neal Morley

September 22, 1932 — January 23, 2018

1932 – 2018
Neal Morley of Salt Lake City, Utah, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his closest family members on Tuesday January 23, 2018.
Neal was born on September 22, 1932 in Salina, Utah to Thomas J Morley and Vaneda Martin Morley. Neal was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served many callings and was a strong supporter of Youth Programs. Neal chose to serve his country and joined the Navy. He served as a Medic for the Navy and Marines and spent much of his service in Korea, Japan, and California.
Neal married his sweetheart and best friend, Lavona Hansen on December 23, 1952 in the St. George Temple while he was on a three day leave from the Navy. After spending 63 ½ years together before Lavona’s passing, they will now be celebrating together again.
Neal was always willing to help others and gave unconditionally. He believed “Don’t ask what needs to be done, just do it.” He loved being with family and friends and good conversation. He was a very hard worker and taught that work ethic to all of those around him. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, being outdoors and working in the garden and yard. He was known for the best lawn on the block. He especially loved the many years of memorable summers camping in Colter Bay, WY with close friends and family.
Neal is preceded in death by his parents and his dear wife. He is survived by his sisters: Iris Morley, Deanna Davidson, Tamra Fisher. His son, Alan (Janet), Daughter, RaNae, Daughter, Connie Green, and Son-in-law Steve Green. Grandchildren Chris, JJ, Jessica, Tyler, and Emma. Great-grandchildren Destinee, Cadence and Jaxon.
