Navada “Japoy” Lee Escholt

Navada “Japoy” Lee Escholt passed away on July 20, 2021 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on September 30, 1978 to Rhonda Anton Escholt and Lee Escholt in Anchorage, Alaska. He married Connie Medina on October 21, 2003.
Japoy enjoyed playing hockey in his youth. He loved listening to music, and being outdoors snowboarding and playing hockey. Along with cruising with his AS One Car Club. His family were very involved in doing events in the community, helping with fundraisers, and the Toy Drive each year in the memory of his beautiful baby girl, Valeecia. Japoy also loved putting things together.
He is preceded in death by his Father, Lee Escholt, and his baby girl, Valeecia Escholt.
Japoy is survived by his wife, Connie Medina-Escholt, sons Mateo and Lazario, his Mother Rhonda Escholt, Sister Tasha (Cliff) Harris, his Brother Cody, and his two special nieces, Mercedes and Zenya.
His Medina family was very special to him and cherished the relationship he had with them: Bernice, Rich, Frankie, Cathy, Martina, Maria, Grandpa Vic, and several cousins. He valued his friendship with many friends.
Japoy loved his dogs Kuma and Buddha. He enjoyed his “Firestone” family and working there.
Japoy had a special love for his wife Connie and cherished their marriage and friendship bond.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 2, 2021 at 6:00 PM, with the viewing two hours prior, at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123. Following the services, Japoy will be cremated, and a graveside service with military honors with his urn will be on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 11:30 AM. Interment to follow, all at the same location.
