Nate Brower

February 19, 1979 — February 7, 2020

With profound sorrow, we announce that Nathan Edgar Brower, a beloved father, brother, and uncle was taken from us on February 7th, 2020 at his home in West Valley City, Utah. Nathan was an inspiration to others by the courageous life he lived and in those quiet morning hours, all those who loved him lost a part of themselves.
Although only 40 at the time of his death, Nathan affected many people in his lifetime. He was born February 19, 1979, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Sheila and Fred Brower. He grew up on “the west side”, Hunter, Utah; graduating from Hunter High School, class of 1997. Many of Nate’s friends date back as far as elementary school. Nathan’s work ethic and commitment to excellence in his craft were evident in his profession and his many home improvement projects. He had a creative spirit, which was enhanced by his natural talent. Nathan was passionate about Jeeps and working on his pride and joy, his jeep Rihanna. He also enjoyed Country music, watching Real futbal, and long naps in the sun. Above all and always, Nate was a good friend and a family man. As his innumerable friends attest, when he touched your life he left an imprint on your heart and would give all he had for you. Following the example set by his own dad, Nathan’s primary aspiration is life was being a good father—a job at which he excelled. His sons were the center of his universe and his greatest pride.
Nathan’s legacy of unconditional love and forgiveness will be carried on by all who shared a piece of their life with him. He will continue to be a part of this world through his son Victor Brower and his new granddaughter, Aaliyah. He will also continue through his son, and namesake, Nathan Stevens. His sisters, Jamie and Iris Romero, will keep their baby brother’s memory alive by maintaining the trio’s ride-or-die pact. Nate was immensely proud of being a Brower and his memory will endure through his siblings: Jeff, Cindy, Keith, Gary, Matt, Phil, Ralph, and the entire Brower clan. Nathan adored his grandma and his love will continue through her, Prescilla Mondragon, and all of his New Mexico family. Nathan’s nieces and nephews will carry forward their uncle’s values of loyalty and kindness. Nathan also has a large family of choice, each of whom will carry forward his example of love and selflessness. Finally, Nathan’s memory will persist through his fiancé, Natalie Marx, whose love and daughters brought him newfound hope and purpose.
We can only imagine what it will be like for the years to pass in front of us without Nate. However, we are comforted by the idea that Nathan is standing in the sun with his father and hero, Fred Hansen Brower, and with his mother who was taken from him long before he was ready, Sheila Brower. He is also preceded in death by his grandparents Edgar, Dagmar; and Venetta Brower, Onesimo and Juanita Martinez, and Bernabel and Elviria Archuleta.
Nathan will always be remembered for his gentle spirit, grace, and ultimate sacrifice. We invite you to a celebration of his too short but impactful life. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 15th, 11:00 a.m. at Redwood Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Rd. A viewing will be held from 9:00-11:00 am prior to services on Saturday. Ultimately, Nathan’s legacy will not end on this final day because he embraced his life not as stagnant line, but rather, Nate’s life and love was a stream that will continue to expand through each of us.
