Nancy Shaffer

Nancy Carolyn Tueller Crabtree Shaffer beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend was called back home to her loving Heavenly Father after enduring a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing on the evening of December 22nd, 2019.
Nancy was born on June 3,1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lois Josephine Smith Tueller and Russell Albert Tueller. Mom grew up in Salt Lake City until her family moved to Nevada where her father went to work for the Ellison’s Ranch. She eventually moved back to Salt Lake where she graduated from Granite High school in 1959. She graduated from the Salt Lake school of Cosmetology and enjoyed doing her girls hair with the latest fashions.
Nancy married George Richard Crabtree on November 24, 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple and was married for 25 years, she also married Frank Shaffer, Mason Walker, Greg Harris.
Mom worked as a travel agent and enjoyed traveling the world. She was very athletic and a fierce competitor and had a passion for playing tennis, Horseshoes & table tennis she also loved a variety of other games. She was an excellent cook and was known for her Cherry Cheese cake and many other dishes. She enjoyed conversation with everyone and those closest to her were aware of her spunky little personality.
Mom is survived by brothers Ron and Don Tueller, her children Steve (Vineta Davis), Kim (Lee Mettmann), Scott (Lisa) Crabtree, Rick (Nikki Swaner) , Stacey (Derrick Schmerse) and many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Mom is preceded in death by her Father, Mother, sister Betty Tueller Sparks and great grandchild Sofia Zimmerman.
A viewing will be held in her honor the evening of 12/27/2019 from 6:00-8:00PM and again 12/28/19 from 10:00-11:00AM prior to the funeral services 11:00-12:30 at 1160 Vine St Murray Ut 84121 (LDS Ward house). Interment will be held at 1:00PM at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary 3115 Bengal Blvd Cottonwood Heights, Ut 84121 (801) 943-0831.
