Nancy May Draper Bailey, 73, passed away with family by her side on June 30, 2021. She was born on December 12, 1947 to Howard J. and Doris Draper in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Nancy was the oldest of five children. She attended Roy High School and Weber State College. Her family moved to Taylorsville, Utah in early 1968, where she met her husband, Carl Bailey, through an aunt and uncle and agreed to marry him after 13 days of courtship. They wed in the church she attended as a child and were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They shared more than 53 years together.
Throughout her life, Nancy enjoyed working on genealogy, working on and completing many different craft projects, and serving in her callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, including a mission call to serve in various church buildings in Salt Lake City. She quickly advanced in every work endeavor, with some of her proudest moments in her work as a candystriper, her work with her husband as medical personnel at a race track, and as an election judge during many election years. She was always willing to help others, including sacrificing
work to help her aging in-laws. She was also always willing to learn and try a new craft whenever time allowed.
A special thanks is extended to the staff at the South Mountain Dialysis Center for their many years of work and support.
She is survived by her husband, children Roselind, Melodie Hayes, Adam, Becky Starr (Jake), bonus son Eric Autrey (Britnee), siblings Susan Lindsay (Randy), Jim (Debbie), David (Dawn), 5 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, sister Marsha, brother-in-law Rolf and niece LaVon.
Funeral services will be held on July 10, 2021 at the church house located at 949 E. 10600 South, Sandy, Utah at 12:30 p.m. with a viewing before the services at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will be at Memorial Estates Cemetery at 6500 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.Service Information
