Myrtle Joyce Jones

Myrtle Joyce Jones passed away on July 21, 2021, in her home surrounded by her loving children. She was born on October 15, 1930, in Springville, Utah to Isaac Alonzo Howe and Mary Gabbitas Howe. She married Donald J. Berry on August 17, 1947. They later separated and divorced. She then met and fell in love with Sterling “Creed” Jones in 1969. Joyce and Creed married on August 10, 1996, in Elko, Nevada. They spent 52 years together.
She was a loving woman that loved taking care of babies. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, cross-stitch, and driving through the canyons. She had a deep love and appreciation for pianos and classical music. She had the biggest heart, which made all of us feel so special. Every time we saw her, she would tell each of us how much she loved us.
She is survived by her husband, Sterling “Creed” Jones, and her 11 children; Lonnie (Char), Lynn (Hilary), Mike (Debbie), Karen, Trisha, Nina, Donald, Mel (Natalie), Donna (Clint, deceased), Carol, Darcy (Charlotte), and her sister Mary Fowler. Joyce has 35 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers Melvin and Raymond, her sister Bessie, and one grandchild Darcy Jr.
A viewing will be held on Monday, August 2, 2021, from 8:00 to 10:00 AM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road West Jordan, Utah. Graveside services will follow at 12:00 noon at the Salem City Cemetery, 965 South 140 East Salem, Utah.
