Muriel Marjorie Woolsey Lockhart, age 86, passed away October 7, 2015, of natural causes due to her age. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Feb. 25, 1929, the eldest daughter of Floyd Andrew Woolsey and Dorothy Hilda Procter. She married S. Daniel Lockhart on Oct. 11, 1954 in Reno, NV. The marriage was later solemnized in the West Jordan LDS Temple. Muriel graduated from Granite High School and LDS Business College, was a member of the Ladies Auxillary of N.A.L.C. Branch 111, and retired from the Civil Service.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan L. Stirland, Texas; Granddaughter, A. Nikol Stirland (Trent Babbett), New Zealand; Grandson, Ian J. Stirland (Diane), California; and two Great-grandchildren, California. She is also survived by three sisters and one brother: Joan Van Ry, Lorene Eatchel, Lois Bunderson, and Bill Woolsey. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dan; son, David M. Lockhart; and two sisters, Carolyn Dorothy Rogers Fraser and Sarah Luella Davies.
A private graveside service will be held Monday, October 19, 2015. She will be laid to rest between her husband, Dan, and her son, David. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to your favorite charity.
